Couples counseling for new parents

Having a baby changes everything, including your relationship with your partner.

The sleepless nights, the 2 am fight over who is awake, the lack of quality time together, even the strongest of relationships take a hit after the birth of a child. This is a normal and understandable change that comes with growing your family, but it also can signal that you and your partner need to adapt your way of connecting and communicating.

I have worked with new parents for 15 years. I have seen what works and what doesn’t work. I have witnessed what real life looks like in the thick of new parenthood. I understand the specific logistics of a household with a new baby at home. Through this close contact with so many families in the South Bay, I developed tools to support families. The adjustment is hard, but we can find ways to ease some of the strain. I can help you learn how to communicate more directly, more effectively, to balance out the loss of time youre experiencing with your partner. I can help you find ways to prioritize your relationship in small but meaningful moments. I would love to help support you and your partner as you work to grow your family so that you have a solid foundation to continue to build for years to come.

I’m Rebecca,

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I specialize in working with high achieving couples. If you feel successful in many areas of life, but feel that your partnership is struggling, I can help. If you’d like to feel more connected to your partner, improve your communication, or reconnect after feeling distant, I provide tools to help you and your partner overcome communication issues and discover happiness. My approach is direct, supportive, and gets to the heart of the issues rather than just staying at the surface. I use tools in session to show you how powerful good communication can be while we work to resolve the current issues, as well as healing past problems that have led to long lasting resentment.
