Infertility counseling in Redondo Beach

You don’t have to do this alone.

Infertility can be one of the most isolating and stressful experiences someone can go through. When it seems like your friends can get pregnant easily, and the questions from well-meaning family seem never ending, you may feel like you want to hide from everyone. Even though your friends and family may not understand, there are resources available to help you through this.

I’m Rebecca,

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I specialize in working with individuals struggling with infertility. Through one-on-one counseling, I’ll support you in knowing your fertility treatment options, and help you communicate your needs to your loved ones in order to decrease isolation and overwhelm, and to learn coping skills to manage the stress and decision fatigue you may feel.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How do I know what fertility treatment is right for me?

There are so many options when it comes to fertility treatment. The best way to approach the start of your fertility journey is to meet with a medical doctor who specializes in fertility. There are a few fertility clinics local, and many in the surrounding areas. Your doctor will provide guidance on what the best options for you are based on your body.

+ How do I handle family questions when I’m struggling with infertility?

Though family is often well meaning, their questions can feel invasive when you are struggling to understand your own fertility. Being honest with family about your feelings, and letting them know that you will share with them when you are comfortable, can help to set the boundaries you need around you own feelings and privacy.

+ What if my partner isn’t supportive during my fertility treatment?

Fertility is a journey for the couple, not just the individual. It is important that you and your partner can come to some agreements about what steps to take, and what you are each comfortable with. Couples therapy can be a helpful tool to learn the necessary communication tools to support you and your partner in making the many decisions that come with fertility treatments.

+ How long does therapy last?

Length of treatment depends on your needs and process. Infertility counseling can end at any time, or when you feel you’ve reached a place of wellbeing. Many clients stay until they achieve pregnancy, and others choose to stay through the postpartum period before ending therapy.

+ Do you provide tools or resources to use at home?

Yes, I provide tools, worksheets, and lots of direct ideas to practice in session and to use at home.

+ What does infertility counseling cost?

50-minute Session: $250 per 50 minute session

Associate Therapists: $175+ per 50 minute session

+ Do you accept insurance?

I am not paneled directly with any insurance companies due to the restrictions in mental health coverage. If you have a PPO plan you will likely have out of network coverage that would reimburse you for our sessions. I can walk you through that process and how to find what your coverage will be. I want to provide the best possible services to you, and being out-of-network is how I have managed to do that. Learn more about my insurance policies here.
